Sometimes all we can do is hold on to the truth

Trump continues to lie about what happened on January 6th. Not that it'll matter much, but I just can't let that pass.

The lying around January 6th just enrages me.

And there's a fresh batch today from the Dear Leader himself.

In an interview with "News"max, Trump was asked about Ashli Babbitt. You might recall Ashli Babbitt. She was shot by an officer who was defending Congress during the attack.

But in this interview this week (starting around 7:45), we get this:

"I'm a big fan of Ashli Babbitt...she was innocently standing there. They even say trying to sort of hold back the crowd."

No, she wasn't.

We have video of Babbitt crawling through a door window that had been smashed by her fellow thugs. That's why she was shot - because she and her fellow attackers were trying to break into the House chamber. The video shows that they all knew a gun was drawn and pointed. I'm not going to show the actual shooting here. I'll put a link down below. Check it out for yourself.

Now, Trump goes on to say, "She was killed, but no one else was killed."

True, not killed, but died - at least six more in total due to what happened that day - including later suicides by police who defended the Capitol. Yes, suicides.

All on a day that Trump has since described as "a day of love".

But that's not all. Prompted by a question from "News"max host, Trump called the fact that the officer who shot Babbitt is still on the force a "disgrace" and that he'd be looking into that. He also said he'd be looking into why the government hasn't settled a lawsuit brought by Babbitt's family.

But that's not all. He even says that his people are considering *reparations* for the January 6th attackers. He has firmly embraced these people, of course. Remember, he pardoned them all, even the most violent ones who beat up, tased, and pepper-sprayed cops.

All enraging. But all so impotent.

Astoundingly, January 6th has ended up meaning absolutely nothing in our politics. Still can't believe it, but it's true. There's nothing to do on that front.

Expect maybe this - call out the lies. Hold on to the truth.

He ginned up election conspiracy theories, people died, and he just goes on lying. To this day.

And no one who follows this "news" source will know any different.
